Dumbfounding Graphic Treatment in NBA 2K17

We all known that NBA 2K is one of the most popular video games on the market, and 2K17 is sure to be even better thanks to the borderline cheat code that will be the Golden State Warriors. Since the first screenshot of NBA 2K17 game have been revealed, players discovered a dumbfounding thing.

A couple days ago, the makers of the game unveiled a special treat when they announced 2K17 will feature the 1992 United States of America Basketball Team, a.k.a. the “Dream Team.” The game’s makers re-created the iconic team photo in the game and tweeted it out.

Instantly, people took notice that some of the players didn’t get the proper graphic treatment one would hope for from a video game in 2016. Several pointed out that 2K17 Larry Bird looks a lot like actor/podcaster Michael Rapaport, who went on ESPN’s SportsNation to talk about the incident.

But most notably, people noticed that Michael Jordan himself looked less than great. In fact, when you zoom in, it’s easy to see that whatever this digitally created man is, it basically looks nothing like MJ. His eyes are crossed and his ears are giant.

Why Michael Jordan’s graphic lack fidelity so seriously? Does someone at 2K Sports have a beef with his Airness? In recent years it seems like Michael Jordan, crying or not, just can’t catch a break. At least he’s still got his jump shot.
